ALAMO to Offer SMOFCon Scholarship

Although SFSFC will not be offering a scholarship to attend SMOFCon 28 in San José, the Texas-based convention-running group ALAMO announced yesterday that they will offer one. ALAMO will offer a $300 scholarship to be used toward the cost of attending SMOFCon 28. See their SMOFCon Scholarship Application for further details.

2009 World Fantasy Convention Changes Dates, Revamps Website

SFSFC announced today that the dates of the 2009 World Fantasy Convention have changed to October 29-November 1, 2009, rather than the following weekend as originally announced. Details of the announcement are in the press release and on the newly redesigned 2009 World Fantasy Convention website.

No ConStruction in 2008

At their July 19, 2008 meeting, the SFSFC Board of Directors decided to not hold ConStruction, SFSFC’s series of convention-running conferences, in 2008. We now plan to hold one in 2009 and 2011, and are soliciting proposals from other groups to hold one in 2010 with our assistance.

SFSFC Launches Westercon Bid for San Jose
